Analytics overview

Coassemble gives you Insights on each course: who viewed it, how many completed it, where people drop off, and how individual learners are progressing. If you deliver learning through Embed, the same kind of data is available through analytics components you can place in your product and through the API.

Once people start taking your training, Coassemble records what's happening so you can see whether it's working. You get this through Insights, viewable for any course, with the option to surface the same data inside your own product if you're using Embed.

What Insights show you

Insights bring together a few views of how a course is performing over a date range you choose:

  • Course summary, the headline numbers: how many people viewed the course and the overall completion rate.
  • Progression funnel, how far people get through the course and where they drop off, so you can see which screen is losing them.
  • Individual usage, a per-learner breakdown showing who viewed the course, how much time they spent, and their progress.

You set the date range to look at a recent period or a longer span, so you can compare how a course is doing now against earlier.

Where this data comes through

How you read results depends on how you deliver training:

  • In Coassemble. Open Insights from a course to see its summary, funnel and individual usage directly in your workspace, and export learner data for your own records.
  • In your own product (Embed). You can embed read-only analytics dashboards for a specific course, collection or user, so results appear inside your product. You can also pull the underlying data through the tracking API and present it in your own dashboards.

Identified and anonymous learners

What you can see about a person depends on whether they were identified. If a learner's identity is captured, their activity is tracked against them by name. If a course is taken anonymously, you'll still see that activity happened, but it won't be tied to a named person. Choose an identified option when you need results attributed to specific people, such as for compliance.

Frequently asked questions

What can I measure about a course?

Viewers, completion rate, where people drop off through the course, and per-learner time spent and progress, all for a date range you choose.

Can I export the data?

Yes. You can export learner data from your reports to keep your own records or work with it elsewhere.

Can I show results inside my own product?

Yes, with Embed. Use the read-only analytics components for a course, collection or user, or pull the data through the tracking API and build your own view.

Will I see who each learner is?

Only if their identity was captured when they took the course, making them an Identified Recipient. Anonymous activity is counted but not tied to a named person (these are Anonymous Recipients).
