Common questions: Troubleshooting

Can you help me resolve a technical issue I'm experiencing?

Yes, just let us know what the issue is. Once you share more specifics, we'll be able to guide you through the appropriate steps to resolve your issue.

I can't see the Share button.

The Share button should be visible in two locations: below the course card within your dashboard or if you are inside the course, at the top of your screen.

If you can't see it, here are a few things to check:

  • Make sure you are not currently previewing the course. You will know if you are in preview mode if the Preview toggle at the top of the screen is green. Switch this off and the Share button will appear.
  • Make sure you're logged into the correct account (especially if you have multiple accounts)
  • Verify you're in the correct workspace if you have access to multiple workspaces
  • Try refreshing your page.

If you're still having trouble after trying these steps, please let us know and we will connect you to support.

Why am I losing my progress while creating a course?

Coassemble automatically saves your progress as you build your course, so you shouldn’t lose any work. If you’re experiencing lost progress, it may be due to an unstable internet connection. Try refreshing your page or checking your connection to ensure everything is syncing properly. If the issue persists and you suspect a bug, please report it to our support team.

How do I add due dates and expiry dates?

Because Coassemble focuses on content creation and flexible delivery, automated "due dates" or “completion dates” are not built into the platform. Instead, these deadlines are typically managed within the external platform you use to host or share your Coassemble content (such as your own LMS via SCORM or your HRIS).

If you are sharing your course via a direct share link and need to restrict access by a certain date, you can do so manually by following these steps:

  1. Navigate to the Courses tab on your sidebar.
  2. Select Share under the specific course you wish to manage.
  3. Under Who can access this course? change the setting to No one (course disabled)

Note: Turning off access will immediately prevent anyone from launching the course, effectively acting as a hard expiry date for your content.

Why can't I see my course in the dashboard on Coassemble?

There could be a few reasons for this:

  • If you have a large number of courses in your account, you may need to scroll down the page or select Show more courses
  • Check that you haven't typed something in the search bar. This will filter out courses based on your search words.
  • If you have access to folders, the course might be in a folder. Check if you've accidentally moved it into a folder. You can easily move it back to the main dashboard if needed.
  • Check that you are logged into the correct account if you have multiple accounts.
  • Check that you are in the correct workspace if you have access to multiple workspaces.
  • There could be a technical glitch. Try refreshing your page to see if that helps.

If none of these options help, please let us know as there may be a bug. If you have recently downgraded or upgraded your plan, this has no impact on being able to view your courses within your workspace.

I think there is a bug. How do I report a bug?

You can report a bug using our in-app support. Provide as much detail as possible. Our team will be in contact with you via email to troubleshoot further if needed or to let you know there has been a resolution.

How do I ask learners to provide a longer typed response to a question?

A short answer question in Coassemble requires learners to type a written response. Since these questions are automarked, the correct answer must be entered exactly as the learner will type it. For this reason, they work best for simple, one-word or numerical answers. For example:

“What is the capital of France?” (Answer: Paris)

If you are looking to collect longer responses that require manual grading, or reflective responses/feedback, there is not a native way to do that within Coassemble. You can use the Embed screen to embed a third-party tool in your course to capture this information.

Where is the learner dashboard?

If you are looking for a centralized learner dashboard or a student portal within Coassemble, you’ll notice that one doesn't exist. This is a deliberate design choice because Coassemble is primarily a knowledge transfer tool, rather than a traditional Learning Management System (LMS).

Our goal is to prioritize the speed and ease of sharing information, creating as little friction as possible for your audience.

Delivering content where your learners are

Because Coassemble is designed to be flexible, it can either stand alone or complement your existing tech stack. You can share your courses wherever your learners already spend their time:

  • Direct links: Share a unique URL via email, or pin it to a company intranet page for instant access.
  • Slack integration: Send training directly into your team's Slack channels.
  • API and integrations: Use our API to embed knowledge directly into your own custom apps or websites.
  • Using your existing LMS: If your organization already uses an LMS for record-keeping and management, you can simply export your Coassemble content as a SCORM file and upload it to your platform. This gives you the best of both worlds: Coassemble’s easy authoring and your LMS’s reporting.

Creating a central access point

If you don't use an LMS but still want your learners to see multiple courses at once, there’s multiple ways to do this:

Using a Collection

The simplest way to group content within Coassemble is to create a Collection. This creates a single, dedicated page for your learners to visit, where they can view and launch all the courses you’ve assigned to that group. It serves as a focused "hub" without the complexity of a full-scale dashboard.

Integrating with your existing tech stack

Since you can include share links anywhere, you aren't restricted to a specific platform. You can build your own "learning menu" in the tools your team uses every day, such as:

  • Communication tools: List available courses in a pinned message or a dedicated "Training" channel in Slack or Microsoft Teams.
  • Project management: Add links to relevant training modules directly within Trello cards, Asana tasks, or Notion databases.
  • Company intranets: Embed course links into your SharePoint site, Confluence pages, or even a simple internal Google Site.
  • Custom portals: If you have an existing company portal, you can design a custom landing page that matches your branding and simply link the course share links to your own buttons or icons.

By placing links where work is already happening, you ensure that knowledge transfer is a natural part of the learner's workflow.
